Covid 19 third wave Sri Lanka – A person infected with Indian Delta coronavirus variant found from Dematagoda Sri Lanka

A person infected with the delta varient of coronavirus which is rapidly spreading corona strain in India has been found in Sri Lanka.

The victim is a resident of Dematagoda, Colombo.

The number of infected people in the country who have encountered this variant is increasing to 5 with this infected person.

Dr. Chandima Jeewandara of the University of Jayewardenepura states that this virus strain is 50% more prevalent than other strains of the virus.
