The Tamil Nadu State Police and the Central Intelligence Agency have been paying close attention to the matter as India’s Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has issued a warning on Saturday afternoon that it had received information about an armed group that was trying to enter India, Indian media reported.

According to intelligence sources, a boat carrying an armed group was heading towards Rameshwaram beach and the identity or organization of these individuals has not been confirmed.

Accordingly, special security measures have been put in place in Kanyakumari, Tuticorin, Rameshwaram and Chennai, Indian media reports.
