The European Parliament yesterday passed a resolution to consider removing the GSP + concession being granted to Sri Lanka.

Accordingly, the European Commission will soon begin work to consider extending the concession to Sri Lanka

The resolution was put to a vote in the European Parliament with 628 votes in favor and 15 against.

Parliament also passed a resolution calling for the repeal of the Prevention of Terrorism Act in Sri Lanka.
