Corona will be reduced due to the travel restrictions

Dr Padma Gunaratne, Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Medical Association says that there is a possibility of significantly reducing the speed of corona infections after the implementation of strict travel restrictions for two weeks.

She added that people should stay home as much as possible during this period and support the health sector by following health guidelines.

She said the next steps could be decided after analyzing the data received after two weeks of strict restrictions.

She added that the country would be able to move forward once the number of infected cases dropped significantly and hospitals became more resilient.
