Minister Vasudeva Nanayakkara states that the ship that caught harboring near the coast of the Colombo harbor has caused great damage to the country’s ecosystem.

However, a large compensation could be obtained from the shipping company, he said. He added that it would be very useful for the country to receive such compensation at this time.

He also said that Sri Lanka had received a large amount of compensation due to the ship that had caught fire in Sri Lankan waters earlier as well. He made these comments at a media briefing held in Colombo.
