Army Commander Shavendra Silva has instructed the public to stock up on essential medicines, food and beverages at home for the next few days.

He also said that the advance notice that the travel restrictions will be imposed from the 21st was for the people to collect essential items.

He also states that no one will be allowed to walk on the roads when traffic restrictions are imposed.

He added that prolonged travel restrictions would help the health sector control the spread of the disease.
