Workers on quarantine in Katunayake are starving

More than 300 garment factory workers in the Katunayake Free Trade Zone, which has been quarantined due to the Corona infection, are starving, Grama Niladharis and Public Health Inspectors in the area reported.

The officials say that the government will not give them anything as they are temporary residents and they will not be able to maintain them.

The workers find their phone numbers, call and beg for food, while others scold them. PHI in the area said.

The public health inspectors also said that the quarantine in those area had been suspended due inability to provide food and facilities to the people.
