Investigations into the sudden death of a Buddhist monk at a temple in the Atamasthana sacred area in Anuradhapura have revealed that the deceased monk was infected with corona.

The monk was walking in his temple when he suddenly fell and died. The monk, who was lying on the ground, was rushed to hospital by a novice monk and a police officer.

Subsequent tests revealed that he had a corona infection.
