Sri Lanka lifted the palm oil importing ban

The government has decided to lift the ban on the importing palm oil to the country.

Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardena said that the ambassadors of Malaysia and Indonesia had contacted him to protest against the ban noting that the ban was a violation of WTO agreements.

Accordingly, the situation has been resolved as Sri Lanka has agreed to allow the import of quality and pure palm oil, the Minister said.
