President in a discussion with the Head of the World Health Organization

President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has held a video conference discussion with the head of the World Health Organization, Tedros Gabrial.

The head of the World Health Organization, Tedros Gabrial, would help the Sri Lankan people to obtain the 600,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine needed to be given the second dose; President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa said in a Twitter message.

The President further stated in his Twitter message that there is a need for 20 million doses of AstraZeneca injection to provide the second dose world wide.

The President also said that it has been revealed that the World Health Organization (WHO) may approve the Chinese cyanoform vaccine for emergency use in the next few days.
