238 arrested for forgetting face mask; Jaffna police has to drag people

238 people have been arrested for violating quarantine laws, including not wearing masks and not keeping distance during a police island-wide operation yesterday; Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated.

The Police Media Spokesman said that 5486 persons have been arrested so far for violating the quarantine rules including not wearing masks and about 5400 of them have been charged so far.

Wearing a face mask alone is not enough and the law will be enforced if it is not worn by hygienic practices.

The police spokesman further stated that further operations are being carried out to find those who are violating the quarantine rules.

Meanwhile, Jaffna Police is conducting to catch people who violating the COVID 19 rules.
