North Korea will not take part in the Tokyo Olympics

North Korea has announced that the country will not take part in the Tokyo Olympics this year. They are hoping to protect their athletes from COVID 19 with the decision.

Some experts assume inadequate of south Koreas health system to dealing with the Covid pandemic out break is the reason behind the decision.

This years Olympic is going to start July 23 this year this announcement made North Korea the first major country to skip the delayed 2020 Games because of the pandemic.

But this decision makes down the South Korea’s hopes of using the Games to engage cross-border talks with the North.

Both countries played a joint team at the Winter Olympics in 2018 which led to a series of historic moment between two countries.
