Suspicious coconut oilcontainer seized; Dambulla : None of the coconut oil samples are carcinogenic – Coconut Development Authority

Dambulla police had seized a container suspected to be containing contaminated coconut oil unfit for human consumption, police spokesman said.The container of coconut oil was taken into the police custody.

Also, The Coconut Development Authority reported that none of the oile samples submitted to them for testing contained the carcinogenic Alfatoxin.

Piyasena Edirimanne Director of Coconut Development Authority said that Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) had handed over 50 samples of packaged coconut oil currently on sale in the market to its authority for testing and this reported after a proper laboratory testing.
