A group of lawyers of the Sri Lanka Bar Association have submitted a letter questioning the recent activities of the Bar Association today.

This letter has been handed over to the head office of the Bar Association in Colombo.

The lawyers who handed over the letter said that the behaviour of the Bar Association was to some extent the reason for the increase in the disturbing atmosphere in the country.

The letter has suggested that the clapping of some lawyers after the appearance of certain accused suspects before the court is against professional ethics and appropriate action should be taken against them.

Also, the group of lawyers told the media that they mentioned that they did not represent any of the accused as the Bar Association.
