General (Retired) Kamal Gunaratne, Sri Lanka’s Defence Secretary, has advised the public to desist from damaging public property during peaceful demonstrations. He called on the public to refrain from acts of violence in a televised statement. “Despite the fact that some rallies and demonstrations are planned with the intention of being peaceful and demonstrating people’s democratic rights, it is noted that two factions are managing these protests,” the Defense Secretary remarked. He claims that one side is protesting peacefully, while the other is purposefully causing damage to public and private property while inconveniencing the general public on public roadways and in public places.“The second group is involved in organized acts of violence,” the Defense Secretary explained.“In other regions, protestors on motorcycles roam from place to place, launching attacks on residents and businesses with petrol bombs and stones,” he said, adding that another group is plundering property. Furthermore, the defense secretary stated that criminals had broken into protestors’ homes and stolen their belongings. The Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Public Security, and the three armed forces, along with the Sri Lanka Police, are keeping an eye on the protests and have no objections to the peaceful demonstrations. He did say, though, that necessary steps will be taken to avoid acts of violence, and that legal action would be taken against anyone responsible. He also urged the general people to be wary of individuals who encourage violence.
Tissa Jananayake Says Sorry!

Well Known Advance Level Biology Lecturer Who supports Gotabaya Rajapaksha regime Government Finally says Sorry. “On this occasion I apologize to all the people of my country. Because I too supported this unfortunate regime. From now on, I will stand with the people in a non-partisan and non-political manner, not in favor of any political party or individual. Under the circumstances prevailing in Sri Lanka at that time, many like me believed that he would be suitable for the post. But we all know that it is not so. The day the nominations were submitted for the general election, I posted a Facebook post protesting the re-nominations for the same old thieves. Now we can see another play. That is, the cabinet is changing and labeling the old failed characters as changing. Politicians must stop giving jokes to the people now and listen to the real voices of the people. Another reason was that the public was outraged. Changing the labels of MPs and ministers who make arrogant statements such as “Where are the queues?”There are infinitely far-sighted, honest, patriotic, talented, even experienced advisors in developed countries who have become infinitely far-sighted. People cannot be deceived until they are given the opportunity to work with them and find a real solution to this crisis. Victory for the struggle! – Tissa Jananayake – 2022-04-04″
