The prices of bakery products including bread have increased since midnight yesterday  (12). Accordingly,  the price of 450-gram bread will increase by 20 rupees to 190 rupees.  The bakery owners association said that the price of other bakery products will be increased by 10 rupees.

The visa application submitted by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa for going to America has been rejected. The Indian newspaper ‘The Hindu’ reports this citing the American Embassy in Colombo. The embassy spokesperson has mentioned that visas are not given back as visitors to those who have renounced their American citizenship and visas are given only under very special circumstances such as sudden death of a family member or medical treatment.  Meanwhile, it is reported that the President is hoping to go to India in a plane belonging to the Sri Lankan Air Force, but India has refused to allow the plane to land there.
