Sri Lanka ranks 25th in the world in terms of reports of corona infections. Thirteen countries in the Asian region, including Sri Lanka, are in the top 25. Sri Lanka was the 13th country in Asia to report the number of infections. This has been revealed by the Worldometers website which calculates corona infections worldwide.

Kalu Ganga overflows Ratnapura is in danger of flood
Heavy rains cause overflowing Kalu Ganga from the Ratnapura area. Currently, the water level in the city of Ratnapura and its has exceeded the level of minor floods. Sri Lanka reported 33 more covid 19 related deaths
Another 33 people died of corona infection, the Government Information Department reported According to the announcement, 11 of the deaths occurred at home. At the same,e time the number of corona deaths in the country has increased to 1243.

Corona patients in intermediate treatment centre suffer from heavy rains
A group of people staying at an intermediate treatment centre built to treat asymptomatic corona infected people have been affected by heavy rains. The whole country is in danger authorities request a two-week curfew
The Association of Public Health Inspectors states strict travel restrictions should be imposed for at least two weeks to control the spread of coronavirus in the current situation. The current restrictions on travel will help control the virus to some extent, but it is not enough, union president Upul Rohana said. Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa says that Sri Lanka has successfully controlled the spread of corona. He also said that Sri Lanka could be introduced as one of the leading countries in terms of corona vaccination and the government had enough money and was ready to provide as much money as needed. He also added that potential wealthy people should help to control the spread. The Minister made these comments while inspecting several housing complexes in the Colombo area.

However, he said that the spread of the virus in Sri Lanka was serious and he is not going to use the word “dangerous” and the Ministry of Health has taken all necessary measures to consider this situation. The virus could not be prevented from spreading as India if the current situation was not addressed. He said these while addressing a media briefing at the Ministry of Health.
