PHI in the western province is on strike against vaccination only families of doctors
The Sri Lanka Public Health Inspectors Association has decided to withdraw from corona control duties in the Western Province. The union says the decision was made in protest of the corona vaccine being given only to family members of doctors. The secretary of the union also said that they were opposed to giving the corona vaccine only to the families of the doctors while the ground level employees of the health service were at great risk. Accordingly, they said they would step down from corona control duties in the Western Province today.

The rapid spread of corona in Sri Lanka can be stopped only if the whole country is closed for fourteen consecutive days, Former Minister, Virology Prof. Tissa Vitarana said. Heavy rains cause overflowing Kalu Ganga from the Ratnapura area. Currently, the water level in the city of Ratnapura and its has exceeded the level of minor floods. Another 33 people died of corona infection, the Government Information Department reported According to the announcement, 11 of the deaths occurred at home. At the same,e time the number of corona deaths in the country has increased to 1243.

The whole country is in danger authorities request a two-week curfew
The Association of Public Health Inspectors states strict travel restrictions should be imposed for at least two weeks to control the spread of coronavirus in the current situation.
