A fire broke out at the Maradana Police Station

A fire broke out at the Maradana Police Station today morning (16). The fire has been brought under control and two fire engines of the Colombo Municipal Council have been deployed for the purpose. The fire had broken out at the Maradana Police canteen and the old hostel. Police suspect an electrical leak may have caused the fire.

A stock of Moderna Vaccine imported to Sri Lanka today

1.5 million doses of the Modarna vaccine manufactured in the United States were delivered to the Katunayake International Airport today. Sources from the Katunayake Airport said that the consignment of doses was brought by a Qatar Airways flight. The vaccine was donated to Sri Lanka by the United States of America under the auspices of the World Health Organization (WHO) “Covax” program. Accordingly, this is the first time that the Moderna vaccine has been brought to Sri Lanka.
