The suspect has been identified and has fled the area, police said. Mattakkuliya police are conducting further investigations to arrest the suspect. Meanwhile, a man was stabbed to death near the bathing dock at Gautarmuni Kalaputhira in the Poonaryn Police Division. Police say that a group of individuals had come to the Gautarmuni bathing jetty in Kalaputhira last evening (26) and had been bathing. One of the group had an argument with another person who was present at the scene and the victim who had come to prevent it had stabbed him in the chest and seriously injured him.
