Australia’s first omicron death reported

The first death has been reported in Australia due to an infection with a new genus of Omicron. A man who was receiving treatment at an adult care centre in western Sydney has died, foreign media reported. A few days after the person became infected with the covid virus, he was diagnosed with the Omicron covid strain. After his condition worsened, he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the relevant care center and died there. According to foreign reports, the deceased had completed the covid vaccination.

Jeevan Mendis retires from international cricket

Sri Lanka all-rounder Jeevan Mendis has decided to retire from international cricket.  He has left a note on his Twitter account stating this. Jeevan Mendis, who made his international debut in 2010, has taken 28 wickets and scored 636 runs in 58 ODIs. Jeevan Mendin, who has played in 22 Twenty20 Internationals, took 12 wickets and scored 207 runs. The last time he played in an ODI was against South Africa in June 2019.

The Frontline Socialist Party states that Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa recently paid a state visit to India on a private plane.  According to Pubudu Jayagoda, the party’s publicity secretary, the plane was a private jet from Uganda to Ratmalana in Sri Lanka, according to the airport’s social media account. He added that it was a mystery as to who owned the aircraft. He made these comments at a media briefing held at his party headquarters.

Sri Lanka should pay compensation for reputation damage done to their company- China’s Chindavo Siwin Biotech company

China’s Chindavo Siwin Biotech says compulsory compensation from Sri Lanka They also say that compensation should be paid at the Arbitration Center in Singapore for the damage done to their company’s reputation. The announcement comes in the wake of the company being approved to pay $ 6.7 million. The company claims that its company bid with full sincerity to supply organic fertilizer to Sri Lanka, but that company’s reputation was tarnished by its deliberate actions and that the loss should be recouped.

Spider-Man: No Way Home – Breaks box office records

Spider-Man: No Way Home has just been released worldwide. According to the foreign media, the film is currently updating its revenue records in an unexpected manner.   According to the reports, it was the most successful film released during the plague. The banking system in Sri Lanka is in deep crisis, with a deficit of nearly half a trillion.

 Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka W.A. Wijewardene points out that there is a deficit of 455 billion rupees.  He added that the crisis was exacerbated by the artificial control of interest rates and exchange rates. He said this while posting a note on his Twitter account. “SL is to enter 2022 with double whammy:no forex & rupee liquidity in banks;net rupee deficit in banks have increased to Rs455bn requiring @CBSL to meet it daily under its standing lending facility at 6%;CB must fund now both Govt & com banks to keep system going” he said

There is a shortage of keosene

In addition to gas, there is currently a shortage of kerosene in Hatton and surrounding areas Many people in the area are facing various difficulties as the release of kerosene is also restricted due to these conditions.  Commenting on the situation, many in the area said that despite the current shortage of gas and the extra cost of kerosene stoves with gas stove explosions, there is still a shortage of kerosene in these areas from time to time. National College of Education, which is used as an intermediate treatment center and quarantine center severely damaged.

The students point out that the belongings of its teachers and students have been stolen from the dormitory of the Pulathisipura National College of Education, which is used as an intermediate treatment center and quarantine center for the suppression of corona.  They revealed this to a group of teachers and students who had come to the hostels these days as the administration of the faculties had inspected their belongings and allowed them to be taken away if they were in a suitable condition. Two murders in the same way

 An individual was stabbed to death by a man in the after an incident at a party. The incident was reported from the Pokunuwatta area in the Mattakkuliya police division yesterday (26) morning. The deceased has been identified as a 22 year old resident of Palliyapara, Mattakkuliya. According to the police, the deceased had had an alcohol party with another group and the incident had taken place at the end of the party. The suspect has been identified and has fled the area, police said. Mattakkuliya police are conducting further investigations to arrest the suspect.  Meanwhile, a man was stabbed to death near the bathing dock at Gautarmuni Kalaputhira in the Poonaryn Police Division. Police say that a group of individuals had come to the Gautarmuni bathing jetty in Kalaputhira last evening (26) and had been bathing. One of the group had an argument with another person who was present at the scene and the victim who had come to prevent it had stabbed him in the chest and seriously injured him. The man later succumbed to his injuries after being admitted to Poonaryn Hospital. The deceased has been identified as a 22 year old resident of Somasundaram, Anaikotte.  Poonaryn police are conducting further investigations to arrest the suspect who committed the murder.
