Police imposed curfew in several areas last night and removed it at 5 this morning.
The curfew was imposed in Colombo North, Colombo Central, Colombo South, Mirihana, Kelaniya and Mount Lavinia police areas.
The incident took place in the Mirihana area in Nugegoda when rioters clashed with security forces and set fire to several vehicles.
Several people injured in the clash have been hospitalized. Police say 45 people have been arrested in connection with the incident.
