The Grade Five Scholarship Examination for the year 2021, which was postponed on several occasions due to the Kovid epidemic, was held yesterday (22).

It is noteworthy that children infected and quarantined with covid have been facilitated to sit for the examination under a special system.

 The Grade 5 scholarship examination, which is scheduled to be held as usual in August each year, had to be postponed due to the covid epidemic.

A total of 340,508 candidates, including 255,062 Sinhala medium candidates and 85,446 Tamil medium candidates, had appeared for the scholarship examination this year. It is in 2,943 examination centers and 108 special centers.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner General of Examinations L.M.D. Mr. Dharmasena stated that he hopes to release the results of the scholarship examination very soon.

 Accordingly, he expressed the hope that the results of the scholarship examination could be released before the Sinhala New Year in April.
