According to the news reports schoolgirl has died of covid infection. Speaking to the media today (31), the Director of the Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital, Dr. G. Wijesuriya stated that the girl had died of Covid pneumonia. The Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital treats about 25 children daily with Covid’s disease. “We were informed yesterday that an 11-year-old girl from Maharagama had died due to a covid infection. We have not yet received the full details. We have been informed that he is an obese child to some extent. We will find out more about the incident” he added

An American beauty queen has committed suicide by jumping from an upper floor of an apartment complex in Manhattan. Chesley Christie, 30, lived on the 9th floor of the apartment complex. Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa has stated that no money has been stolen from the bank account of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.  However, he said that websites report on such incidents should not be responded to.  He also said that the websites mentioned that there is such theft has taken place and if they respond to what is mentioned on websites they will have to do it every day. Aluthgama Police arrested two youths with along with the two motorcycles worth Rs. 120 lakhs  which were banned from driving on the roads of Sri Lanka in an motorcycles rally of 100 bikes travelling from the Southern Province to the Western Province yesterday night. The motorcycle rally traveling along the Galle-Colombo main road on its way to the Western Province was Inspected by a team of traffic police in Aluthgama town. A senior police official said that the two youths who were riding with the two motorcyclists traveling in the motorcycle rally were arrested.  The two youths arrested are from Kalutara, police said.
