Arrest of Millennium City military intelligence officers is not an illegal act – Fonseka

Former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka says the arrest of Millennium City Army intelligence officers is not an illegal act.

Mr. Fonseka said the possession of weapons at the site was an illegal act by a senior army officer and that he would reject any attempt by the government to sling mud at it.

He said there was no need to bring claymore mines to Colombo as military intelligence never deployed long distances.

He added that they were carried out by the Special Task Force. He also stars that he was the Commander of Jaffna at the time of the Millennium City incident.

Mr. Fonseka says that those war heroes were used as puppets to overthrow the government. He was speaking during the third debate on the budget in Parliament.
