A teacher who was participating in a teacher-principal protest has suddenly fallen ill and died. The teacher who participated in the teachers’ protest organized in front of Kotapola National College in Matara has fainted and fallen to the ground. She later died at the hospital. The deceased has been identified as a 27-year-old teacher of Deniyaya Central College who had previously undergone heart surgery. The hospital said she was reported dead at the time of admission. Mahendrarasa and 34-year-old Saundanandan Kandeepan, both residents of Paranthan.
