A new set of guidelines imposed for foreign visitors-the14 days quarantine is a mandatory

A new set of health guidelines has been issuedwith effect from yesterday (May 11)for people coming to Sri Lanka from abroad; The Minister of State for Covid Administration, Dr. Sudarshani Fernandopulle stated. The guidelines have been issued given the pandemic situation. Accordingly, a quarantine period of 14 days has been made mandatory for all the people who arrive in the country from abroad.
Corona present situation in Sri Lanka- The Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine administrated to 50000 people yesterday.

Minister of State Dr Channa Jayasumana stated that 50493 Chinese Sinopharm vaccines were given yesterday (May 11) With that 71203 Sri Lankans have been vaccinated against the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine so far. So far no significant side effects have been reported from the vaccine, he said. The vaccination program will continue today (May 12) in selected Medical Officer of Health divisions in the three districts of Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health is hiding data on the spread of the corona epidemic; Dr. Chandima Jeewander of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and Dr. Anuruddha Padeniya, President of the Government Medical Officers’ Association stated..They alleged that the Epidemiology Unit did not provide accurate data to the President and that was why the country could not be locked down. Dr. Sudath Samaraweera, Head of the Epidemiology Unit, said that because of the Minister of Epidemiology would not even provide accurate data on the epidemic and that the country was in grave danger. They made these comments while joining to an interview on Hiru Tv salakuna program.
