Aluthgama Police arrested two youths with along with the two motorcycles worth Rs. 120 lakhs  which were banned from driving on the roads of Sri Lanka in an motorcycles rally of 100 bikes travelling from the Southern Province to the Western Province yesterday night. The motorcycle rally traveling along the Galle-Colombo main road on its way to the Western Province was Inspected by a team of traffic police in Aluthgama town. A senior police official said that the two youths who were riding with the two motorcyclists traveling in the motorcycle rally were arrested.  The two youths arrested are from Kalutara, police said.

It has been revealed that the persons who attacked the car of the Leader of the JVP Anura Dissanayake have been given Rs. 5,000. During the interrogation of the detainees regarding the attack, they stated that a businessman in Colombo had paid them Rs. 5,000 and directed them to this place. The two have been arrested by the Nittambuwa Police and are being questioned.  According to unofficial sources, the group was led by a powerful minister and a powerful businessman from the Gampaha area.

Holder equals Lasith Malinga’s record

West Indies Jason Holder has equalled the record set by several bowlers including Lasith Malinga. That was during the 5th Twenty20 International between the West Indies and England. Holder bowled the last over of England’s innings, taking four wickets in a row in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th overs. Accordingly, he is the fourth bowler to achieve such a feat in a 20/20 international. The government hopes to get rice, medicines and cement through this facility.  Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardena, who recently visited Pakistan, has discussed the matter. Italian President Sergio Mattarella has been elected for a second time.  He received 759 votes in the parliamentary election to elect the President. The parliamentary election to elect the new President was held over six days in eight phases. In the final round of voting, more than a thousand lawmakers and local representatives voted in favor of electing the president, a candidate who needed 505 votes to win.  Incumbent Sergio Mattarella won with 759 votes.

The deadliest disease “Missy” is spreading among children after infecting with covid 19

Doctors at the Ridgeway Aryan Children’s Hospital in Colombo are warning of another serious illness for children with the re-emergence of covid-19 in the country. Dr Deepal Perepaediatrician at the Aryan Children’s Hospital, Ridgeway, Colombo, said that children could even die if they developed a condition called “Missy”. “It is a multi-organ infection. This disease can be very serious. All the senses can be paralyzed. Immunization of children over 12 years of age can reduce the risk of measles. Missy is serious. Children with that condition can go to the intensive care unit. Death can happen. ” he said. “If the child develops the disease without the parents’ knowledge, the child may have a fever again after being infected covid 19 within two weeks or two months, with swollen lymph nodes, yellowing of the eyes, difficulty breathing, and decreased urination or Bleeding with urine can occur. It could result in something like a slowing down of the heart.  And even traumatic situations can happen.” He further explained the situation.

25 million worth Foreign currency found in a luggage

Five persons have been arrested at the Katunayake International Airport by the Customs for attempting to smuggle foreign currency in their luggage. The suspects were arrested following a lengthy investigation by the Narcotics Division of the Sri Lanka Customs.  Customs officers seized $ 95,000, 18,000 euros and 37,000 Saudi riyals. The value of this currency in Sri Lanka is close to 25 million rupees. The suspects are being investigated by the Sri Lanka Customs and Police.

How to get oil for electricity? – Minister of Power and Energy

Gamini Lokuge, Minister of Power and Energy says that the CEB will be able to purchase fuel directly through Indian Oil tomorrow (31) and the day after tomorrow (01). He stated that a decision will have to be taken tomorrow regarding the amount of fuel required by the CEB for the next week. Minister Gamini Lokuge also stated that a program will be launched to obtain electricity from private power plants for a short period.

An unsecured gate kills a girl

A 6-year-old girl has died after a gate collapsed on her body.  The girl had gone with her mother to a teacher’s house yesterday (29) morning when the mother was about to open the gate when it fell on her body, police said. The girl succumbed to her injuries on admission to the Thambuththegama Hospital.  The deceased has been identified as a resident of Thambuththegama, Musalpitiya, D02 Ela Road
