Sri lanka received 200 million dollars financial assistance from Bangladesh
The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has approved the provision of financial assistance requested by Sri Lanka from Bangladesh. Accordingly, Sri Lanka will receive financial assistance of US $ 200 million. The request was made during a recent visit by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. Sri Lanka is currently facing a major foreign exchange crisis. Sri Lanka’s foreign exchange reserves stood at $ 4 billion in March. Bangladesh currently holds about $ 45 billion in foreign reserves.
Police had sent away the people who came into the vehicle to buy essential items.
Police have instructed people return who had come in vehicles to a supermarket in the Thalawathugoda area to buy essential items. They have been told to park their vehicles and come on foot to get essential items. An Explosion of a burning ship in front of the Colombo harbour, containers fall into the sea
The Express Pearl has caught fire and exploded in the sea near the Colombo harbour. The Marine Environmental Protection Agency said eight containers had fallen into the sea. The Sri Lanka Navy has rescued 25 crew members of the ship. Two of the injured have been admitted to the hospital.
PHI in the western province is on strike against vaccination only families of doctors
The Sri Lanka Public Health Inspectors Association has decided to withdraw from corona control duties in the Western Province. The union says the decision was made in protest of the corona vaccine being given only to family members of doctors. The secretary of the union also said that they were opposed to giving the corona vaccine only to the families of the doctors while the ground level employees of the health service were at great risk. Accordingly, they said they would step down from corona control duties in the Western Province today.

The rapid spread of corona in Sri Lanka can be stopped only if the whole country is closed for fourteen consecutive days, Former Minister, Virology Prof. Tissa Vitarana said. He said the situation could not be controlled without doing accordingly and closing the country for just two or three days would not be effective. He also explains why medical experts say the country should be closed for fourteen days. He said the country was in a dire situation and the country was moving towards disaster and warns that thousands could die if the situation is not brought under control at this time.

Sri Lanka ranks 25th in the world in terms of reports of corona infections. Thirteen countries in the Asian region, including Sri Lanka, are in the top 25. Heavy rains cause overflowing Kalu Ganga from the Ratnapura area. Currently, the water level in the city of Ratnapura and its has exceeded the level of minor floods. The water level in the river continues to rise. People in the low lying areas have been advised to seek shelter as the rains continue to fall in the upper reaches of the river.

Another 33 people died of corona infection, the Government Information Department reported According to the announcement, 11 of the deaths occurred at home. At the same,e time the number of corona deaths in the country has increased to 1243.
