Queen Elizabeth II died of old age, her death certificate has revealed. The coroner’s certificate, published by National Records of Scotland on Thursday, said the late British queen died at 3:10 p.m. The Queen died at Balmoral Castle in Balmoral, Scotland on 8 September, 3.20 hours later at 6.30pm, the palace announced. The cause of death was listed as old age. The document was signed by the Queen’s daughter, Princess Anne. Britain’s longest-reigning Queen has died peacefully at the age of 96. Her death sparked a period of national mourning. King Charles III, who ascended the throne after his mother’s death, was officially announced as the new head of the United Kingdom on September 10.
Military coup deposes Burkina Faso’s military leader

Burkina Faso’s military leader Lt. Col. Paul-Henri Damiba has been deposed. Foreign media reported that an army captain announced it on national television. Lt. Col. Damiba’s inability to fight an Islamic Jihad insurgency is said to be the reason for his removal. The army captain also announced that the borders will be closed indefinitely and all political activities will be suspended. Lt. Col. Damiba seized power in Burkina Faso in a coup last May.
Food inflation in Sri Lanka rises to 94.9% in September

The Department of Census and Statistics said that the increase in food prices in September was 94.9%. The department disclosed this while publishing the latest data on inflation. According to the Colombo Consumer Price Index, the increase in food prices in Sri Lanka last August was 93.7%. This month, it has increased to 94.9% mainly due to the increase in the prices of food items including meat, fish, dried fruits, vegetables, potatoes and onions, according to the Population and Statistics Department. The price of goods and services in the non-food category has increased by 57.6% during this month. The Department of Population Records and Statistics stated that the increase in the prices of transport, water, electricity, house rents as well as kerosene is the main reason for this. Thus, the rate of increase in the overall price of goods or inflation in September is 69.8%.

Fuel prices have been reduced with effect from midnight

Fuel prices have been revised with effect from midnight today. Accordingly, a liter of octane 92 petrol has been reduced by 40 rupees and its new price is 410 rupees. Octane 95 petrol has been reduced by 30 rupees and its new price is 510 rupees. There has been no change in the price of diesel and other types of fuel.
