A standard issue in the new gas stocks

It has been revealed that the gas in the ship which brought a consignment of gas to Litro was not up to the required standard. It is reported that the decision regarding the landing of the gas will be taken at the technical committee meeting today. The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) had earlier stated that a decision would be taken today (14) as to whether the gas on board the ship anchored in the Colombo harbour would land in Sri Lanka. The gas vessel arrived at the Port of Colombo recently and the relevant sections have tested the gas in it. However, it has been reported that its “propane and butane” composition is up to standard, but it is not yet known whether the mercaptan composition used to detect the odour of gases is up to par. The Authority further stated that permission will not be granted if there is a slight or slight change in the composition of the gases present on the ship.

A teacher assaulted a student with a plastic pipe and fled away

Veyangoda Police say that a schoolboy who was injured in a plastic pipe attack has been admitted to the Wathupitiwala Hospital and investigations are underway to arrest the teacher who allegedly assaulted him. A student of a school in the Wegoda area has been assaulted by his teacher on the 10th, according to the police. Police have received information that the technology teacher punched the tech student in the cheek, knelt and hit his hands with an Eslon pipe. Police also say that crack open wounds were found on the student’s flesh. Preliminary investigations have revealed that a teacher of technology at a school in the Veyangoda area had assaulted a student who was scheduled to sit for the GCE Advanced Level examination at the school on the 10th. The student who was injured in the attack was admitted to the Wathupitiwala Base Hospital and is receiving treatment at Ward 07. The teacher who assaulted the student was a resident of the Humbutiyawa area and he has now fled the area, police said. The victim had returned home and told his mother about the incident and had lodged a complaint with the Wegoda Police and was admitted to the Wathupitiwala Base Hospital. Hospital sources said an X-ray was taken of the student’s hands to see if there was any damage to the bones. Police say that the teacher in charge of the class had tried to prevent the student from being assaulted but it had failed. The mother of the victim said: “Son came home from school and could not take off his clothes. When I asked why the son said his hands were a little tight. Then he looked at the shirt on the rocks. The son’s hands were badly bruised everywhere. I asked what happened.” “Son said that I was not in class for a period and that the teacher who teaches technology hit me hard. The son was assaulted during recess because he was not in class at the time of the technology. When he came to the wash class at mealtime, he had been slapped several times. The son said he then got down on his knees, took an eslon tube and struck about 20 times with both hands. The Madam in charge of the paper was present when the son was assaulted. “ “Because of the embarrassment of the son holding his hands to the ground and silently looking at the ground. But the teacher was pretty much out of that pipe. It’s okay to hit a child twice for a mistake. But it would be wrong to strike a blow like this. Can’t even see the son’s experience. So many injuries. How can I bear this as a mother? When I came home I was not told that description at first. I noticed injuries when I took off my shirt. That’s when I was told that description. At home, the son vomited. Because we were scared, we immediately went to the police and lodged a complaint and the son was admitted to the hospital.” When we inquired about this incident from Veyangoda Police OIC Chief Inspector Channa Wettewa, the OIC said that the teacher who assaulted him had fled the area and a police team had been deployed to arrest the suspect.
