Pradeshiya Sabha representee of the Sri Lanka People’s Front has been tied to a tree and handed over to the police

A member of the Panadura Pradeshiya Sabha representing the Sri Lanka People’s Front has been tied to a tree and handed over to the police by the residents of the area.

Residents of the Galpatha area have alleged that the MP had behaved drunkenly and obscenely harassing the residents of the area.

The Member of Parliament was arrested following a telephone call made to the Police Emergency Response Unit after he had tied himself to a power pole on the side of the road.

After his arrest, it was confirmed that he was drunk after being referred to a doctor. The MP is scheduled to appear in court today.
